Free Amazon Profit Tracker: what is actually free in 2026

Search for a free Amazon profit tracker and most of what comes back is a 14-day trial with a credit card form at the end. A few tools do have real free tiers. All of them have limits, and the limits are the part nobody puts in the headline.

This page lays out which tools are genuinely free, exactly where each one stops, what you can do with no account at all, and roughly when paying starts making more sense than not paying.

Free tier or free trial? They are not the same thing

A free tier keeps working when you stop paying attention to it. A trial expires. Most tools marketed as "free" are the second kind. Here is the honest split, verified August 2026:

ToolFree forever?The limitCheapest paid plan
SellerGuards that's usYes100 orders all-time, 1 user. Everything unlocked free during beta.$12.99/mo planned
ShopkeeperYesBasic $0 tier with reduced features$20/mo
ManageByStatsYesFree version, limited analytics$24.97/mo
SellerboardNo1-month trial, no card required$19/mo ($15 annual)
SellerLegendNo21-day trial, no card required$49.99/mo
InventoryLab via Seller 365No14-day trial$69/mo bundle
Read the cap, not the price. A $0 plan that stops at 100 orders and a $19 plan that stops at 3,000 are aimed at completely different sellers. Work out your monthly order count first, then look at what is free.

Free with no account at all

If you have a specific question rather than an ongoing tracking need, you do not need to sign up for anything. These eight calculators run in your browser — no account, no card, no email:

These answer one question at a time. Tracking profit across every order, every fee and every purchase lot is a different job — that needs a connected account, which is where free tiers and their order caps come in.

The genuinely free route: do it yourself

Under roughly 50 orders a month, a spreadsheet is not a compromise — it is the correct answer. Amazon already itemises every fee for you:

  1. Pull your settlement report. Seller Central → Reports → Payments → All Statements. It lists every order with referral fee, FBA fee, refunds and adjustments already broken out.
  2. Add a cost column per SKU. What you actually paid, including inbound shipping and prep. This is the number Amazon does not know and cannot give you.
  3. Subtract, honestly. Revenue − Amazon fees − COGS − ad spend. Include the returns, not just the sales.
  4. Repeat every settlement period. Every two weeks, forever.

Step four is where this breaks down. It works until you have enough SKUs that purchase lots start overlapping — you bought the same item at three different prices and now the margin depends on which units sold. That is the point where hand-tracking stops being free, because the hours cost more than the software.

Most sellers hit that wall somewhere between 100 and 300 orders a month. If reconciling reimbursements and returns by hand is taking more than an hour a fortnight, a $13–$19 subscription is already cheaper than your own time.

What free actually means on SellerGuards

We would rather state the limits plainly than have you discover them later.

Right now, during beta

Every live module is free for every seller — research and sourcing, inventory with FIFO costing, order financials and full P&L. No credit card, no trial countdown, nothing to cancel. Sign up during beta and you keep launch pricing for a year after paid plans start.

After beta ends

A free tier stays, capped at 100 orders all-time with one user. That is enough to evaluate the tool properly against your own numbers, not enough to run an active business on. Paid plans are planned to start at $12.99/mo.

Marketplace coverage, so you know before you invest any time: SellerGuards supports 13 Amazon marketplaces — North America (US, Canada, Mexico), Europe (UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands) and Asia-Pacific (Japan, Australia, India, Singapore). If you sell somewhere outside those 13 — Brazil, Sweden, Poland, Belgium, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE or South Africa — other tools on our alternatives list cover those and we do not.

When paying starts to make sense

Three signals, in the order they usually show up:

You cannot answer "which SKU is losing money?"

Aggregate profit looks fine, but you cannot name your worst product without an afternoon of work. That gap is where money quietly leaks.

Purchase lots have started overlapping

Same SKU bought at several prices. Blended averages now hide which batches were actually profitable, and only lot-level FIFO fixes it.

You are not claiming reimbursements

Lost and damaged inventory is owed back to you. Sellers who do not track it systematically usually leave more on the table each year than the software costs.

If none of those apply, stay on the spreadsheet. It is the right tool and it costs nothing.

Free while we are in beta

Every live module, unlocked, for every seller. No credit card and no trial clock. Connect your Amazon account and compare our numbers against your own settlement report — that is the only test that matters.

Start free — no card needed

13 marketplaces across NA, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Free tier after beta: 100 orders all-time, 1 user.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a genuinely free Amazon profit tracker?

A few, all with meaningful limits. Shopkeeper has a $0 basic tier, ManageByStats has a free version, and SellerGuards has a free tier capped at 100 orders all-time with one user. Sellerboard, SellerLegend and InventoryLab offer trials only. Treat free tiers as evaluation tools rather than a permanent home.

Can I track Amazon profit for free in a spreadsheet?

Yes, and under about 50 orders a month it is usually the right call. Your settlement report already itemises every fee — add a cost-of-goods column per SKU and subtract. It stops scaling once purchase lots overlap, which is typically somewhere between 100 and 300 orders a month.

What is the cheapest paid Amazon profit tracker?

As of August 2026, SellerGuards has the lowest planned entry at $12.99/mo. Sellerboard starts at $19 ($15 annual), Shopkeeper's Starter is $20, ManageByStats $24.97, and SellerLegend $49.99. Verify current pricing on each vendor's own page before deciding.

Do free Amazon profit calculators require an account?

Ours do not. The eight calculators listed above run in your browser with no signup, card or email. They answer one-off questions; ongoing tracking across every order needs a connected account.

Why do free profit trackers have order limits?

Because cost scales with orders — API calls, fee reconciliation, storage, and recalculating COGS across purchase lots. A free plan with no cap is usually subsidised, temporary, or monetising something other than the subscription. A stated order limit is generally a sign the pricing is sustainable.
