Getting Started

Connect Your Amazon Account

SellerGuards reads your orders, inventory, fees and settlements directly from Amazon over the Selling Partner API (SP-API). Connecting takes about two minutes and happens entirely through Amazon's own login screen — we never see or store your Amazon password. Until a store is connected, most of the app has no data to show, so this is the first thing to do after signing up.

Before you start

You will need:

SellerGuards requests read-only access. It can read your data; it cannot change prices, edit listings, cancel orders or move inventory.

Connecting your store

Go to Connect Amazon in the app (or follow the banner shown across the top after you sign up) and click Authorize Now. The flow is six steps:

1
Click Authorize Now
This opens the marketplace picker. Nothing is sent to Amazon yet, so you can back out here safely.
2
Select your marketplace and name the store
Pick the marketplace this seller account sells in, then give the connection a store name — up to 40 characters, for example Acme Global Store. The name is only used inside SellerGuards to tell your stores apart, and you can rename it later.
3
You are redirected to Amazon
SellerGuards hands you off to Amazon's official authorization page over OAuth 2.0. From this point you are on Amazon's own domain.
4
Log in to Seller Central
Sign in as you normally would, including two-step verification if you have it enabled. Your password is entered on Amazon's page and is never visible to SellerGuards.
5
Review and approve the permissions
Amazon shows exactly what the app is asking for. Approving returns a token to SellerGuards; it does not share your login details.
6
You are returned to SellerGuards, and the sync begins
You land back on the Connect Amazon page, which now shows Amazon Account Linked with your store name, seller ID and a live status indicator.
While the page reads Connecting to Amazon…, do not close the tab. Closing it mid-handshake can leave the authorization incomplete, and you will have to start again.

What we can see, and what we cannot

QuestionAnswer
Do you see my Amazon password? No. You enter it on Amazon's login page. SellerGuards only ever receives an access token.
Can SellerGuards change anything in my account? No. Access is read-only — orders, inventory, fees, settlements and reports.
How is the connection secured?Amazon's official OAuth 2.0 flow, with the stored credentials encrypted using AES-256.
Is my data shared with anyone? No. Your Amazon data is not shared with third parties.
Can I revoke access?Yes, at any time, from Seller Central under Apps & Services → Manage Your Apps. Revoking stops all future syncing immediately.

What happens during the first sync

As soon as the connection is live, SellerGuards starts pulling your inventory, orders, refunds and other transaction data from Amazon. This takes a few minutes, and you will be notified when it is finished — you do not need to sit and wait on the page.

Pages that depend on synced data — Profit & Loss, Inventory, Transactions and Insights — will look empty or partial until the first sync completes. That is expected, not a fault.

You do not have to wait. Research & Sourcing works immediately — it queries Amazon live rather than reading your synced history, so you can search products, scan barcodes and run profit calculations while the sync runs in the background.

Supported marketplaces

Thirteen marketplaces can be connected, grouped by region in the picker:

RegionMarketplaces
North AmericaUnited States, Canada, Mexico
EuropeUnited Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands
Asia & PacificJapan, Australia, India, Singapore

Connecting more than one store

Run through the same flow again for each additional seller account or marketplace. Every connection gets its own store name, seller ID and country flag.

One store is always the default — the one whose data you are looking at. Use the store switcher in the app to change which store you are viewing, or click Set Default on the Connect Amazon page to make the store you just linked the active one.

Managing connected stores

Everything to do with existing connections lives under Settings → API Integration:

Rename a store
Click the store name to edit it in place. Useful once you have several connections and Store 1 stops being meaningful.
Copy the seller ID
Each row shows the Amazon seller ID with a copy button — handy when you are raising a case with Amazon support.
Reconnect
Re-runs the authorization for that store. Use this if the token has expired, if you changed something in Seller Central, or if data has stopped updating.
Set the default store
Controls which store's data the rest of the app shows by default.
To fully disconnect a store, revoke SellerGuards from Seller Central → Apps & Services → Manage Your Apps. That is the authoritative place to end the connection, because it removes the authorization on Amazon's side.

If authorization fails

If something goes wrong, SellerGuards shows an Authorization Error with the reason Amazon returned, and a Try Again button that restarts the flow. Most failures fall into one of these:

What you seeUsual cause and fix
Authorization Error immediately after approvingThe Seller Central user you signed in as does not have permission to authorize applications. Sign in as the account owner, or have them grant you Apps & Services access.
The wrong store is connectedYou were already signed in to a different Seller Central account in that browser. Sign out of Seller Central, then retry — or use a private window.
You never made it back to SellerGuardsThe tab was closed during the handshake. Nothing is broken; go back to Connect Amazon and start again.
Connected, but data stopped updatingThe token has likely expired or been revoked. Use Reconnect in Settings → API Integration.

If it still fails after a retry, send us the error message shown on the page — it is the message Amazon returned, and it tells us where the flow broke.
